Watton Church Fete on 30th May was a resounding success...
Great attendance and fantastic community spirit on the field, warm if cloudy weather. A superb, much needed £5,900 was raised for church funds. Thank you to everyone who set up, cleared away, baked, served, planted, judged or helped in any way – you are an awesome team!
A huge ‘thank you’ to the pupils of Watton, Heath Mt and Stapleford Schools, Watton Brownies and Girl Guides for their amazing Bible Heroes and Villains in Watton church...Adam and Eve, Daniel and the Lions, David and Goliath, Moses and the plagues, Joseph and his coat, Jonah and the Whale, George and the dragon, Judas at the last supper were all brilliant....you are so creative! They are staying until the end of June so visits can be arranged.
Our annual benefice Christian Aid Service and Bring and Share Lunch on 29th May was well supported at Stapleford Church in aid of the work of Christian Aid with flood victims in Bangladesh. Thank you to Stapleford for hosting this very enjoyable and worthwhile benefice event.
The Watton Sunday Club for children at Watton-at-Stone Church made delicious Pentecost biscuits for the congregation as well as dove mobiles. Red roses, helium, balloons, Jammy Dodgers and mind maps have figured in discussions of God. They meet in 2 age groups on
2nd and 4th Sundays at 9 30am – all are welcome. For more information or offers of help contact Jonathan Aves at email@example.com. Join us at the informal Family Service on 1st Sundays too.
